BOO ! Another year of successful trick-or-treating. Not only Ashlyn & Alex got tons of treats, the most important was Alex wore the Pirate costume. Woo Hoo!

I wasn’t able to get him to wear the costume, Johnson wasn’t able to either. My aunt was too busy doing other things, so, what happened? I don’t know, some how my cousin Jacqueline pulled it off and got Alex to wear his costume. I didn’t ask how, cux that didn’t matter. What mattered to me was getting the costume on Alex.

Will post pictures later when I collect all pictures from my cousins.

No, not milk shake.

A magnitude 5.6 earthquake struck near Alum Rock this evening at 8:04 p.m, and followed by 7 after shocks under 2.0 in the next 20mins. The quake struck along the Calaveras fault, very close to the new place my cousins just moved into weeks ago.

I was at the local Wal-Mart store, actually, just walked in. I didn’t feel the quake, but heard a loud thunder noise, and getting louder gradually. Next thing you know, seeing people fleeing the store and heading to the open area. As I was walking out, the quake stopped, then I heard things falling from the shelves, glass breaking on the floor.

I tried to call home to make sure everyone was OK, but obviously, in a situation like this, cellphones never worked, lines always jammed. Everyone I saw standing in the parking lot was on the cellphone, calling and complaining.

Ashlyn & Alex had their first parade at school today — The Annual Imagination Parade.

This is one of the biggest events at the childcare center. Children and teachers have created costumes using their favorite storybooks, nursery rhymes, and songs as themes. Each Homebase will come up with a theme, and then create original costumes.

I was too busy walking along with Ashlyn, she wouldn’t let go of me, so I didn’t take much pictures. Hopefully my cousin Kimbo took some good pictures and share with me.

We went pumpkin patch on Sunday, but didn’t buy a pumpkin cux it’s too expensive. So we went to Lucky’s instead. We didn’t have much time left to carve the pumpkins, so we decided we must do it last night, and we did.

Ashlyn & Alex were excited, for maybe 5 mins in the beginning. After that, they went off and played with Auntie Stephanie who bought them some toys and halloween stuff from the $1 store. Auntie Stephanie put on some masks she got from the $1 store, Ashlyn & Alex freaked out and screamed from the top of their lungs. Alex kept shaking his head and saying “NO!”

This year, we bought the electric pumpkin carving thing, not sure if I should call it a knife or saw. I wonder why we didn’t get it in the past years. It’s so much easier, but remember, it works great if your pumpkins are not too thick. In my case, the pumpkin I was working on was too thick, I had to use the manual one to cut through again.

I guess Ashlyn & Alex enjoyed the finished products the most. When we lit up the candels, turned off the lights, both of them went crazy. Ashlyn kept on saying “S-P-O-O-K-Y !”

I gave in. Ashlyn has been asking for Princess Halloween costume, she specifically wanted the Sleeping Beauty, the complete set with shoes and tiara. As the Disney online store had a sale and special promotion, I couldn’t resist. I bought her the pink Sleeping Beauty dress and shoes. Well, she asked for the other Princess’s costumes too, but I told her needed to wait for them to go on sale.

The package came couple days ago, and I have been putting it aside, thinking I shouldn’t give it to her before Halloween. I gave it to her today, well, more like she found it. Ashlyn was so happy and you could see her eyes glow. Well, I planned to give it to her on Monday when I pick her up from school, kind of as a reward for doing well in class. I guess I can use it as an encouragement now.

As for Alex, he kept saying he would be a pirate for Halloween, but he’s still refusing to wear the pirate costume. Persuasion and negotiation still underway.

In preparation for Ashlyn & Alex going to pre-school, we took them to the mall for shoe shopping last Sunday. We compared Ashlyn’s and Alex’s feet, and We expected Alex’s feet to get bigger, but didn’t think they were that big.

Ashlyn & Alex wear the same size, 9W, and they are 13 months apart in age.

I guess that’s the way it is, boys’ feet always bigger than girls’
