Black Friday Shopping I

It’s almost 3am Friday morning. Just got back from the mall, which was only 5 mins drive from home.

I/We have been thinking about the midnight shopping spree for a long time. We have planned since Monday, and have been talking about where to go and what to buy throughout the week. We were in Los Angeles last year, and at the last minute, around 11:50pm Thanksgiving night, we decided to hit the Citadel Outlet Mall. We stayed at the hotel only 15mins drive from the mall, so we all thought, it’s a short drive, nobody is gonna be there. Were we wrong! We were soooo WRONG!! When we got there, actually, we were still on the freeway, we saw lines of cars waiting to get in and looking for parking spaces. We parked outside the mall where there were some spaces and construction going on. Actually, many cars parked there too, so no biggy. FYI, our car didn’t get towed or anything.

From last year’s experience, we knew there are going to be many crazy people like us, going to shop in the middle of the night. We, actually, I have a game plan, and I must say it works out very well. At 6:30pm, my cousin and I parked the car, actually, mini van at the mall, and asked my uncle to drop us off, so that we didn’t have to waste our time circling the parking lot, fight for a parking space. So when we’re done with the raid, we drove ourselves home.

Everything worked out fine except for the middle part. It wasn’t a raid. We basically took a walk in the mall only. There were so much people as if it was a grand opening of the mall. There were lines of people waiting to pay for their trophies in many stores, like GAP, Old Navy, Victoria’s Secrets, as if everything was free. I love to shop, but I am not that crazy! I could not believe I said that, I guess I don’t qualify as a shop-aholic. I think I can afford to pay a little more and make the purchase some other time instead of staying in line for hours.

So, who bought the most? My cousin Johnathan. He got a cap, a shirt, a pair of jeans and a pair of shoes. What I got? A pink satin Santa hat with rhinestones scattered on it form VS, and it wasn’t for myself. For whom? Will let you know later.

I am going for 2nd round of shopping spree in 2 hours with dear hubby. Guess where we are going? Fry’s!

Ready. Set. Shop.

My lunch buddy, Vivian, and I were just talking about Black Friday shopping today at lunch. They have a going away plan but Jon, her husband wanted to get something from Target. I told her I didn’t have plan to go early bird on Friday, cux I didn’t have any in mind that I wanted to buy, so I didn’t even go through all those Black Friday ads my husband sent me.

I had a little spare time this afternoon at work, so, just out of curiosity, I browsed through a few of the ads. Oh boy, I think I’m gonna set up a mahjong game on Thursday night after dinner and go straight to the mall right after we finished 8 rounds of games.

Kohl’s will be open at 4am. Yup, 4am. Old Navy will be open at 5am. I must go ON, they’ve got cashmere sweaters 1/2. ToysRus will be open at 7am, and I could go pick up the trikes for Ashlyn and Alex, and they will be on sale. Well, I guess I could hold off a little on this one, cux the special price is good for both Friday and Saturday.

I think I should print out all the ads and set my game plan now.

Shopping, shopping, shopping….

Alex Loves Crocs

I bought Alex a pair of Mikey Crocs at the beginning of this Summer, and he has been wearing them ever since. He chooses the Crocs over other shoes. My dad, Alex’s maternal grandpa, got Ashlyn a pair of yellow Crocs. As soon as Alex saw them, he snatched them from Ashlyn and put them on right the way. Ashlyn got hers too, pink camo Mary Jane Crocs (I have a pair too), but they are too big for her right now, so will have to wait ’til next Summer. I’m contemplating to get her the Princess Crocs. HHhmmm….

Rascals’ Warrior

My rascals’ warrior, their daddy, should be the winner of the one year supply of the Freeze It Gel. He has done quite a bit of weight lifting when he was a teen. Like many young men, they thought they know it all. He once lifted a heavy box in a wrong position and pulled his lower back muscle. He had tried everything from acupunctures, physical therapies, sport gels (which required some rubbing), heat pads, massages from a non-certified massage therapist, also known as his wife, he even bought the massage cushion and hoping it would do the trick. After we had kids, he has done more lifting, bending over getting up, piggy back rides and shoulder rides with the kids, which just add more pressure to his lower back. On top of that, he’s in front of the computer quite a lot due to his work nature. He got sore neck, and sore shoulders.

One Sunday afternoon, after a day of fun with the rascals at the park on the day before, we played the Chinese Mahjong game at home. I noticed hubby was not comfortable while he was playing. He had been getting up and walking around and stretching his body every 2 games or so. I thought he was just tired, didn’t get enough sleep. All the sudden, he just lay on the table and looked seriously in pain. His complaint was his shoulders were sore, and lower back was in pain. I tried to massage for him and his muscles was tight and all knotted up. I went straight to the drugs store and picked up the Freeze It Roll on for dear hubby, remembering my lunch buddy’s husband had used it and result was promising. The Freeze it Roll on was easy to use, it relieved pain quickly. Not only it relieves sore muscle, it can be used for arthritis pain and muscle sprains too. Shortly after he applied Freeze It, he was relieved and played with the rascals. As for the game, I took over.

Old Pals

Over the weekend, I was glued to my laptop and locked onto facebook. You may ask why? Well, recently, I discovered many of my old pals from elementry school in Hong Kong have started surfacing on facebook. It was interesting to see how much we have grown more mature (cannot use the “o” word). A few of them had changed so much that most of us could not recognize them. Some of them moved back to Hong Kong after they studies abroad. Some stayed overseas, and a few of them actually live around my area. Of course, many of them like me, got married and started a family with kid(s). It is amazing how technology nowadays can bring people together in cyberspace.
