Filed under: My 2 Little Rascals

It’s December 31, 2007, 10:25pm right now. On the other side of the globe has already celebrated the arrival of 2008. The giant crystal ball at Time Square New York just dropped an hour and a half ago, which has just made its 100th drop.

Happy New Year to all my friends and families around the globe. Wishing you all a healthy and prosperous year 2008.

After X’mas Sale

Filed under: My 2 Little Rascals

When I was a teen, I was THE LOYAL fan for after X’mas Sale. I would set my alarm clock for 5am to make sure I was at the Mall entrance by 6am when the doors opened. Made sure I stocked up all those gift wrapping material for next Xmas. Now? 180 degree turn around. I wouldn’t buy any Xmas gift wrapping material after Xmas simply because I would forget where I store them, and I ended up buying more at regular prices anyways. I would browse the ads but nothing seemed to interest me anymore.

I was at Walmart the day after X’mas to pick up a couple cans of formula for Alex, but they were all sold out. With a low price and special 20% extra volume, I was not surprised they were out fast. I wasn’t gonna get anything else until I was these babies on sale for less than $4.50 a unit, my eyes popped. The 64 qt. storage container with latch closure. Hurried and got a shopping cart, loaded 8 of these onto the cart and off I went to the cashier. Obviously, these were on sale because they were made for the Holiday seasons with red and green lids. These storage container would normally sold for $7-10 at regular price. As I was grabbing my 8 containers, there were 2 other ladies grabbing a few of them too.

How cool it is. A search engine that has the best results from all the major online search engine tools, such as Google, MSN, and Yahoo. Less spam and it has a new ranking system with toolbars for both the Internet Explorer and Firefox. What’s Wrong with…

Filed under: My 2 Little Rascals

the IPTV? I haven’t been able to watch Alex via IPTV at work for the past week. I was actually watching someone else’s kids since last Wednesday. For some odd reasons, the IT guy over the childcare center (I suspect), thought my son has been transferred to another classroom. So, the TV link was linked to another classroom. How could that be? We were not notified!! Maybe that’s the way they notify the kids’ parents? via IPTV? basically telling us “sorry, your kid is no longer in this room, it has been moved to another classroom!” No, that’s not the way they do things over there. Plus, I wasn’t able to find my son in the “wrong classroom”. So, I kind of complaint to the receptionist one morning. She told me it’s impossible because parents must be notified. Then she said “your son is too old for that class!” huumm… EERRGGHHH…!! Hubby said he filed a case, and still it hasn’t been fixed as of today.

As for Ashlyn, something was wrong with the “server” today. What’s wrong with the IPTV and its server? I guess everybody is in the holiday mood already. *sigh*

Perfect Stocking Gift for DH

Filed under: Friends & Family, Gas $

I enjoyed ice-cream a lot, even in cold weather. Unfortunately, I don’t have someone to enjoy with. Why? Well, the most ideal person to enjoy and share ice-cream would be my dear hubby, however, he has sensitive teeth. Every time we dine out, he always order hot drinks even in Summer time. Occasionally, he would order cold drinks, and most of the time, he would request without ice, and he has to drink with straw, cannot take it directly from the cup, otherwise, you would hear “ssshhhheeee”, that tells me his sensitive teeth and gum are sore.

He consulted his dentist and tried sensitive toothpastes by a popular brand in drug stores, nothing seemed to be really working for him. He needs something that can treat the causes, not just blocking the pain or numming the gums. Biotene seems to be the solution to his long time problem. Biotene Sensitive has the most effective active ingredient for protection against tooth sensitivity. It is sodium-laurly sulfate- free and is sweetened with Xylitol for a fresh and delicious flavor. It is supposed to help with bleeding gum and inflammation, and protect the teeth and build strength over time.

This is the perfect stocking stuffer for my dear hubby. Check out their website and learn more about dry mouth therapy. There’s a section for children’s product too.

Ms Parwin is …

very happy. Yesterday morning, Ms. Parwin was happy to see Ashlyn. Once she saw us when we dropped off Ashlyn, she kept on saying “Ms. Parwin was very happy last week, especially last Friday.” What could Ashlyn possibly have done to make Ms. Parwin that happy?

Parwin: Ms. Parwin was very happy last week, especially last Friday. Ashlyn participated in activities. She didn’t sleep during rest time, so I asked her to help me to decorate a birthday card for a kid whose birthday was on Friday. She played with Emerald and Myla, although she didn’t speak to them, but she laugh with them when they did something silly. I think it was the first time I saw a big smile on her face. Ashlyn also ate with other kids. She had some bread. So I was very happy to see Ashlyn eating and engaging activities.”

WOW, that’s a big leap for Ashlyn, I must say. My Princess Ashlyn, keep up the good work.

Too Cold, Too Warm

It happens every time without fail that someone would complaint about the heater whenever we turn the central heater on. It was either too dry, too hot, need to turn the temperature up more. To make everybody happy, and to cut down energy costs, each room should have an individual heater. Space saving vent free heaters, natural gas or propane gas can be installed on your wall, as a fireplace, or even in your garage, perfect if you spend a lot of time working or fixing your car in the garage. Hop on over to check out their wide selection of indoor and outdoor heaters, it’s not too late to get one, or two for this winter.

My Dilemma

So, what happened to my X’mas gift from my dear hubby?

Well, let me back track a little bit. As we were, to be exact, as I was, studying and debating which model to get, the three candidates were Canon SD1000, Casio S880, and obviously, the Casio Z1080. I’m not gonna go into details and tell you why I picked the Z1080 over the other 2, it’s quite subjective.

So, I have been debating whether I should wrap it up and put it under the Christmas tree, and wait ’til Christmas night and ripped the wrapping paper along with my cousins, Ashlyn and Alex, and pretend I am very surprised to receive a new camera from dear hubby, or to test drive it and get familiar with the functions and use it to take pictures as everybody unwrapping their gifts. Thanks to dear hubby’s suggestion, I tested it last night. I was glad that he suggested to test the battery, otherwise, I wouldn’t have made the decision I have made this morning.

I decided to return it and get another model. Why? Everything was great about the Z1080, nothing wrong with it. The thickness, as compared to my S600 was a little thicker due to the size of the battery, didn’t bother me a bit. What bothered me the most was the time it took to display the picture after the image was taken.

I took a picture with both cameras, theoretically should be simultaneously, 1 in my right hand, 1 in my left. I’m sure I must have pressed one of the shutter sooner, the other later, but it didn’t affect the result. The S600 displayed the image immediately, and the Z1080 displayed a second or two later. That really bothered me, cux when taking pictures for kids, I need to know how it turn out immediately so that I know if need to retake or not.

I just ordered one of the other 2 models this morning, and going to return the Z1080 tomorrow. I’m very anxiously to get the newbie in my hands.
