Reconfirm Appointment
I am going to take Ashlyn to see the dermatologist tomorrow morning for her rash on her cheek, which resurface on and off for the past few months.
I made the appointment last week. This morning, I received a phone call from the dermatologist office, with an automated message, and using the keypad to reconfirm the appointment. My feeling was, “Wow, automated!”
Just 5 minutes ago, I received a live person phone call from the dermatologist office again. Asking Ashlyn to reconfirm the appointment. Maybe the cellphone reception not great in my cubicle, but I just think the conversation was a bit silly.
O = Office
M = Me
O: Hi, this is the dermatologist office calling to reconfirm Ashlyn’s appointment with Dr. so and so tomorrow morning at 8:45am.
M: This is Ashlyn’s mom. We received a call this morning already.
O: Oh, can you ask Ashlyn to call us back, to reconfirm the appointment? Since she is first time patient, we need her to bring picture ID, insurance card, and referral if applicable.
M: eerrgghh… Well, this is Ashlyn’s mom, Ashlyn is only 3, I don’t think she will return your call. We received a call this morning to reconfirm her appointment already.
O: Oh, I didn’t know. OK, that’s OK. Thank you!
OK? That’s not OK. When I called to make the appointment, I gave them Ashlyn’s birthday already, how come she still wanted a 3 year old to call them to reconfirm the appointment? Isn’t that silly or what?
